Hire a Redis developer who knows what Redis is good for — and what it isn't
I use Redis daily: as a Celery broker, for sliding-window deduplication (30-second alert windows on the CCTV build), rate limiting on API backends, and short-lived state. I also know it isn't a durable log — job state belongs in PostgreSQL.

Redis is used as the source of truth and data disappears on restart.
Keep durable job state in PostgreSQL; use Redis for what expires anyway — broker messages, dedup keys, counters. If Redis restarts, re-enqueue from the database.
The same incident fires a flood of alerts from overlapping cameras.
A sliding window per camera ID and track ID — exactly the Redis dedup pattern from the CCTV analytics build.
APIs get hammered and downstream services fall over.
