The pipeline works on sample videos but not on live RTSP feeds.

Handle the real world: dropped frames, reconnects, varying resolutions and clock drift between cameras — all part of the CCTV builds I've shipped.

Pre-processing eats the frame budget before detection even runs.

Profile and trim: resize before anything expensive, batch, and drop frame rate where the use case allows it.

Frames are processed but nothing useful comes out the other end.

Design the event layer with the video layer: what gets stored (timestamps, boxes, camera IDs) and what triggers an alert.

A short call to scope the problem, a written scope (what will be built, what won't, and how we'll know it works), then small milestones you can review — with the code in your repository from day one.

Can you work with our existing codebase?

Yes. Most work is hardening, extending or extracting from existing systems rather than greenfield. I'll flag honestly where a rewrite isn't worth it.
